    Air Conditioning Guide

Knowledge, costs & subsidies – everything you need to know at a glance.

    What Influences the Price?

Costs vary widely – depending on the project, investments can range significantly. The following factors influence the price:

    • Number of rooms to be air-conditioned
    • System type (single split, multi-split, VRF)
    • Manufacturer and energy efficiency class
    • Pipe length and installation effort (e.g. scaffolding, core drilling)
    • Building conditions (old building, new build, masonry, insulation)
    • Additional features (Wi-Fi control, heating function, filters)

    Example Prices (Starting From)

For initial orientation – final prices depend heavily on the factors listed above:

    • Single-split unit (one room): from approx. €2,500 incl. standard installation
    • Apartment (2–3 rooms, multi-split): from approx. €4,500
    • Single-family home: from approx. €6,500
    • Commercial / VRF system: from approx. €12,000 – open-ended

These figures are guide values only – depending on equipment and effort, the final price may be significantly higher. Individual planning ensures optimal efficiency and cost control.

Which Air Conditioner Is Right for Me?

    Split Air Conditioner
    Apartment

    Split Air Conditioner

Ideal for single rooms – efficient, quiet and quick to install.

    Multi-Split System
    House

    Multi-Split System

One outdoor unit supplies multiple rooms – flexible and space-saving.

    Central / VRF System
    Commercial

    Central / VRF System

Powerful solution for large buildings with many zones.

The right choice depends on room size, usage and budget.

    Energy Consumption & Operating Costs

Modern air conditioners are energy efficient and cause significantly lower electricity costs than many assume.

Regular maintenance additionally reduces energy consumption.

Modern devices are significantly more efficient than older systems.

Well-insulated rooms and correct settings save additional electricity.

Even with intensive use, costs remain low compared to the comfort gained.

Note: This calculation only includes electricity costs. Gas consumption (e.g. for gas-powered systems) is not included.

    Maintenance & Lifespan

    A well-maintained air conditioner:

    • Lasts significantly longer
    • Uses up to 20% less electricity
    • Provides better air quality

Recommendation: have it serviced at least once a year.

Subsidies & Grants for Air Conditioning

In certain cases, air conditioners or heat pumps can be subsidized.

    • Energy-efficient systems
    • Combination with photovoltaics
    • Use as heating system (heat pump)
    • BAFA (Federal subsidy)
    • KfW (Loans & grants)

We are happy to advise you on suitable funding options.

Subsidies usually only apply to certain systems and must be applied for before implementation.
